Sondes from Vivax-Metrotech are small self-contained battery-powered transmitters located by a compatible pipe locator receiver. Sondes are typically used to locate the non-metallic pipe, drains, sewer or duct. The sonde is propelled along the non-metallic line using conventional drain pushrods or pipe inspection camera systems and is often used to pinpoint blockages or collapses.

The vLoc3-Cam sonde locator from Vivax-Metrotech is built on a new Triaxial 3D antenna architecture providing the best-in-industry sonde locating experience. The vLoc3-Cam makes finding and locating sondes and camera heads quick and easy every time. Approach the sonde from any direction, and the bright color LCD will guide you to the exact location of the camera head with depth.
The vLoc3-Cam includes all the industry-standard sonde frequencies and a line trace frequency for locating the entire length of the camera pushrod. In addition, an optional transmitter is available for this application. The vLoc3-Cam also includes passive Power and Radio modes for traditional utility sweeping.
The vScan receiver is both a line & sonde locator. The vScan receivers antenna orientation makes it ideal for sonde locating. It includes the two most popular sonde frequencies used by pushrod camera manufacturers - 512Hz & 33kHz. A passive power 60Hz and Radio mode for locating passive signals radiating from adjacent pipes and cables allows users to sweep for known and unknown utilities.
